Installment 1
A man chased by two other men was struck by Frank Cain's speeding automobile.  The two men fled without Frank seeing them.  Frank stole the man's wallet and discovered his identity to be Marcus Lazano.  The following morning, Marcus awoke with total amnesia.  As Dr. Antonio Martinez questioned him, Marcus lost consciousness once again.

Installment 2
Dr. Martinez explained to Det. Washington that the patient "John Doe" (Marcus) has suffered a complete loss of memory.  Det. Washington questioned Marcus.  Both were suspicious of each other, but were mutually attracted.  Det. Washington dubbed Marcus "Gian".

DA Philip Benton stopped by to speak to Nurse Gail Renwick about finding a caterer for a fundraiser.  It was obvious that she was infatuated with him.  Philip evaded her questions about his girlfriend Rhonda.  Later, Philip had an argument with Rhonda about her refusal to attend his sister's wedding to Gail's cousin.  Gail attempted to use the fundraiser as an excuse to spend time alone with Philip but he saw through her ruse.

Installment 3

Det. Washington shared with his partner Det. Ginny Riley that he doesn't believe that "Gian" (Marcus) is faking his amnesia.

DA Benton and Det. Washington clashed over protocol.  Det. Washington admitted to Det. Riley that he's hoping DA Benton will not be reelected.  Philip apologized to Rhonda over their argument.  They left for lunch, planning to make love.

Dr. Martinez introduced Dr. Margaret Park to
"Gian" (Marcus).  She made plans to work with him to regain his memory.  Det. Washington returned to see "Gian" (Marcus).  Their mutual attraction was palpable as the detective took fingerprints.  Later, Det. Washington ran the fingerprints but there was no match in the national database.

Det. Washington received the crime scene report showing that Frank was not at fault in the accident that put
Marcus in the hospital.  Frank was relieved that he was no longer a figure in the investigation.  He vowed to find a way to profit from Marcus's situation.

    That night, a man entered
Marcus's room and injected something into his IV.  Nurse Renwick and Dr.Martinez fought to save Marcus's life but his heart rate grew erratic and he stopped breathing.

Installment 4

Dr. Martinez and his crew saved "Gian" (Marcus) from heart failure.  Suspicious, Dr. Martinez ordered the contents of the IV bag tested.  Det. Washington arrived at the hospital to find a media circus.  Dr. Martinez explained that Marcus's IV was poisoned.  Det. Washington informed "Gian" (Marcus) that his investigation will now focus on the attempted Murder.  Marcus pleaded not to give up searching for his identity and the detective promised to continue.

Frank read about the attack in the San Marcello Bulletin and decided knowing Marcus's identity could pay off.  He looked up Marcus's Twin Creeks address online, noting that it was in a swanky neighborhood.  A strange man watched Frank through his window.  Frank attempted to visit Marcus but was not allowed in by the guard posted at his door.

Rhonda arrived at the hospital for a gynecology appointment and was told that Dr. Riley had to leave on an emergency.  Rhonda became enraged.  Nurse Renwick put Rhonda in her place, but acted very professionally.

Installment 5

When Frank arrived home, he found it in shambles and was attacked from behind.  He was knocked out.  The stranger found what he sought in Frank's desk drawer and left.  Frank laid on the floor, lifeless.

Rhonda complained to Philip about her perceived bad treatment at the hospital.  Philip didn't let on that he knew Nurse Renwick or that it's her cousin who will be marrying his sister.

Frank came to and realized the man who attacked him stole the wallet he took from Marcus the night of the accident. He assumed that it was the same man who attacked Marcus in the hospital.  Frank demanded police protection but Det. Washington refused.  Thinking that Frank knows more than he's letting on, the detective assigned a plain clothes officer to monitor him.  Frank made plans to visit Marcus's old address in Twin Creeks.

Gail stopped by Philip's office and hid when she overheard Philip and Rhonda arguing.  After Rhonda left, Gail told Philip that she's planning Ann's bridal shower and asked for his help.  They arranged to meet for drinks two days later.

Installment 6

Officer Hardwick tailed Frank to SFO Int'l. Airport and discovered that he was flying to Twin Creeks, VA.  Cole made plans to fly to Twin Creeks to see if there is a connection to "Gian" (Marcus).  Frank found Marcus's last-known address and was surprised to find the charred remains of a house.  He visited the county recorder's office and was stunned when shown a death certificate for Marcus.

Cole visited the TCPD and bumped into Frank as he exited the county building.  They lied to one another about their reasons to be there but neither believed the other.  Cole received a call from Ginny.  She told him that Corelli may not have been working alone and that Marcus's life may be in danger.

Frank researched the Twin Creeks Informant's archives and discovered several articles about Marcus painting him as a violent criminal who was tried but not convicted for the murders of his mother and his father's business partner. The article also alleged that Marcus may have been involved in a recent jewel heist.

Cole arrived home to study the report detailing possible threats to "Gian" (Marcus).  He called the officer guarding him at the ICU but got no answer.  Calling for backup, Cole rushed to the hospital.  They arrived to find the officer out cold and Marcus missing.  Cole followed a trail of blood to the elevator and noticed a bloody fingerprint on the button to the top floor.

Installment 7

Cole followed a bloody trail to the top floor of the hospital, under construction.  He found "Gian" (Marcus) hiding in a ventilation shaft but was stabbed by the man chasing him.  Before the man had a chance to attack Marcus, Cole shot him dead.  After treatment, Marcus discovered Cole was his hospital roommate.  Cole learned that Leo Corelli, a notorious mobster from Twin Creeks, VA, was the man who attacked "Gian".  Marcus did not recollect the name.

That night, Cole and Marcus shared their first kiss.  In the morning, Frank Cain asked Dr. Park if he could speak to "Gian" (Marcus).  She agreed and introduced them.  Frank apologized for running him over and vowed to be his "guardian angel."

Gail met Philip for drinks at the Valley Towers Hotel bar to discuss Ann's bridal shower.  Philip gave Gail a list of women to invite.  Gail admitted that she'd overheard an argument he had with Rhonda but Philip declined to discuss it.

Installment 8

Frank wondered how he could get ahold of the jewels if Marcus really has amnesia.

While working with Dr. Park, "Gian" (Marcus) had a vivid childhood memory, being beaten by his father.  When asked, Marcus led Dr. Park to believe he remembered being attacked by Leo Corelli.  Marcus returned to his room to discover that Cole had been released.  Cole promised to continue working on the case.  Alone, Marcus remembered his criminal
history
and vowed to himself that he wouldn't let anyone know of his past.

Gail barged into Philip's office, declaring that Ann had ruined the surprise bridal shower by scheduling a day at the Lujoso spa.  Philip came up with a plan to trick Ann into attending the shower.  Gail thanked Philip with a kiss-- just as Rhonda entered the office.  Philip introduced the two women, explaining that it was an innocent kiss.  Rhonda was rude to Gail who left.  Philip and Rhonda argued over the encounter.

Cole exploded when Police Chief Evans told him that, since Leo Corelli was no longer a threat, "Gian" (Marcus) would no longer have police protection.  Evans reiterated that his decision was final and ordered Cole to get some R&R.

Frank visited Marcus and began dropping hints from Marcus's past.  Marcus appeared to have some recognition but didn't appear to catch on.

Installment 9

Dr. Martinez informed "Gian" (Marcus) that he'd soon be released.  Cole suggested that "Gian" (Marcus) apply for the clerical position at police headquarters.  He promised to put in a good word for him but was hesitant to ask him to move in.

Rhonda complained to Philip that Gail purposely kept her off the invitation list for Ann's bridal shower.  Philip apologized, explaining that Gail got the list from him.  He promised Rhonda that he'd have Gail call her.

Gail called Rhonda to personally invite her to the shower but Rhonda told Gail that she didn't trust her motives.  Gail worried that Rhonda would be a formidable enemy.

Frank discovers that Marcus is being released and told him that he'll have to get a housemate.  Marcus asked if he could move in and Frank agreed.  Frank asked Marcus not to tell Cole that they'll be housemates.  Marcus was suspicious so Frank lied that he wanted to patch things up with Cole.

At Ann's bridal shower, Gail and Rhonda clashed again.

Installment 10

Cole and Ginny wondered whether Frank may be involved in the Twin Creeks underworld.  Secretly, Cole worried that "Gian" (Marcus) may also be involved.

Ann was thoroughly surprised by the bridal shower Gail threw her.

As Marcus prepared to leave the hospital, Cole called to announce that he'd been reinstated, cleared of any wrongdoing in the shooting of Leo Corelli.  "Gian" (Marcus) told Cole that he'd chosen the name Giovanni Capriola, loosely translated in Italian as "John Doe," as his official name.  Marcus avoided telling Cole that his new housemate was Frank.

Frank picked Marcus up and drove him to his apartment in the sketchy Riverview neighborhood.  Frank implied that he'd soon be coming into money and would be able to move to a better area.  Frank and Marcus were both watched by a man across the street.

"Gian" (Marcus) performed exceedingly well at his job interview in the Human Resources Dept. of SMPD.  Jenny was thrilled with his skills and Rhonda hired him.

Rhonda and Gail clashed once again after Gail explained that Rhonda would have to wait as Dr. Riley was running behind schedule.

Installment 11

"Gian" (Marcus) successfully evaded Cole's questions about his new housemate, Frank.  He and Cole drank a bit too much wine at dinner and decided to walk to Cole's apartment.  Someone followed them, watching from a car.  In the apartment "Gian" (Marcus) and Cole made love.

Cole discovered that it was Leo Corelli who attacked Frank the night of the break-in.  He began to suspect that Frank knows more than he's letting on.  "Gian" (Marcus) overheard Cole and Ginny discussing Cole's plans to fly to Twin Creeks to dig for more clues into his past.  After they left for lunch, Marcus snooped through Cole's email, learning that he'd already followed Frank to Twin Creeks.

Philip and Rhonda argued once again as Philip was forced to cancel dinner plans.  "Gian" (Marcus) and Jenny overheard the commotion prompting "Gian" (Marcus) not to ask for time off.

"Gian" (Marcus) confronted Frank about his trip to Twin Creeks.

Installment 12

Frank taunted "Gian" (Marcus) with information about his past causing all of Marcus's memories to return.  Marcus fell into a state of catatonia and was rushed to the hospital.  Dr. Martinez informed Cole of the turn of events.  Cole asked Ginny to fly to Twin Creeks to look into mob activity there.  Dr. Park considered using electro-convulsive therapy on "Gian" (Marcus).

Philip surprised Rhonda at her apartment, apologizing for his recent behavior.  He admitted that he's afraid their relationship is becoming too serious.

Dr. Park consulted with the hospital's attorney about using ECT on "Gian" (Marcus).  Cole visited "Gian" (Marcus) and told he loved him.  Frank spied Cole leaving and darted in to visit Marcus.  He apologized for taunting him.  Marcus awoke with his memories intact and asked Frank to help him find the stolen Van der Griff jewels.  Dr. Park nearly caught them scheming and questioned them both.  They lied, telling her "Gian" (Marcus) fell from a ladder.

Despite Dr. Park's and Dr. Martinez's objections, "Gian" (Marcus) was released from the hospital.  Dr. Park shared with Dr. Martinez that she is suspicious of recent events.
